Blow-Up - movie DVD cover picture
Classic, masterpiece

Antonioni's international directorial debut is a gritty, sharp look at the attitudes and mores that prevailed in the London of the Sixties. It was the Swinging Capital of the world and Blow Up captures its essence for the following generations. If you want to know what was happening in the Swinging Sixties, 'Blow Up' makes you feel you were there. Following a trendy fashion photographer's work (based on David Hockney), we view fashions, political demonstrations, pot parties, etc. Blow Up is a masterpiece because unlike lesser works of art, its style can be idealised but not copied and reproduced irreverently. One of a kind.

Step Into Liquid - Simply Amazing

I'd wanted to see this film for a while, but living in Kansas it came nowhere near me to a movie theater (if it did at all). I finally got around to buying the DVD and watched it last night on my television, and I'm already making plans to run it on my office computer some evening and project it onto a big wall.

The cinemaphotography is simply amazing. If you aren't impressed with the shots, you could be one of those poor souls that takes the ocean for granted. This is a film worth watching over and over again.

I replayed the Cortes Bank (Mount) sequence three times last night. Imagine riding a 66 foot wave!! If you can find this movie - rent it. If you love the ocean and respect the stoke, buy this movie immediately. You won't be disappointed.

Powerful and entertaining

It is about time that Peter, Paul & Mary release this incredible collection of truly a 3 some of great talents. There isn't a folk group that touch their sensitivity, professional delivery of there musical performance. I have followed this group for 40 years and their enthusiam for the celebration of the human spirit hasn't waned an inch. They are as vibrant as ever. You won't go wrong on this purchase. It is handsomely packaged with great care.
If there was a disappointment it would be that the DVD that was enclosed had some pretty shakey video and audio reproductions. However, with an understanding of what was retrievable in "those days" it was still appreciated. This reviewer asks the group "When can you release a new concert of your work guys? IT WILL SELL.
BUY IT. You will enjoy and treasure this release

I liked it

A lot of people told me that they did not like the 2nd episode.. but i thought it was great.. especially that fight scene with the hundreds of Mr.Smith.. :) .. i have to admit that it was rather confusing at times, and i was glad to have subtitles and chapters that i could watch over and over again..

The Hours (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
To Call The Hours A "Chick Flick" Would Be Degrading

Some of the reivews are calling The Hours a "Chick Flick", which I have to disagree with. Saying it's a chick flick makes The Hours sound like it is only for female airheads that like bubbling romantic comedies.
The Hours is a dark, elegant and sinister film that questions it's characters and the actions they take in life. You don't have to be an older woman to enjoy this movie either. I am a teenage guy, and I found a lot to admire in this movie from the acting, to Philip Glass's score, and the fine editing.
Also, some reviewers are questioning the message of the film. To people who are confused out there: NO, The Hours is not saying every deperssed housewife is a lesbian, or that suicide is noble and good. Also, it is not saying that it is heroic to abandon your family. If you're too dumb to pick up on the main themes, then maybe you souldn't be watching a movie of this caliber in the first place.
If you are interested to see a good film, no matter what gender or age you are, I do suggest picking up The Hours. It's definetly worth a look if you enjoy fine cinema.

Yellow Submarine - movie DVD cover picture
The last Blue Meanie (Paul Angelis) was seen in 1968.

In my case that was 1969. That's when I saw this in a double billing with Barbarella (1968) [...] at West Point, NY. I am not sure that this movie has any redeeming social value. However the music is great and it brings back a part of history. Instead of buying the soundtrack, buy the movie and you have them both. I guess I Will have to buy it also to hear "Hey, Bulldog!" I hope it fits in with the time period. And now it is time for a whole new generation to enjoy.

Go buy this!

This series ranks among my top four best along with Kenshin, Naruto, and Hajime no Ippo. This series has awesome fight scenes and also it has a series. Don't listen to anyone who tries to compare it with DBZ, because...well there is no comparison! It's an injustice even trying to categorize them as the same type of anime. The fight scenes don't drag and the story doesn't ever come to a dead stop for ten episodes (like in DBZ). Everything flows at a great pace. Overall, this is one of the best series I have seen. I highly recommend it.
Now, about the DVD. I have no complaints about the box and the cards and pendants are great. The only real problem I have is that the poster is folded so many times...but it doesn't matter too much. I know there are import DVD sets with all 26 episodes mashed into 3 discs. Don't get those for any reason other than to watch the series before you collect it. The image quality is much worse than these releases.
Well that's all I have to say. NOW GO BUY IT! ^___^

Very good but very sad.

It's a very complicated and beautiful drama. However it's very sad and everything you don't want to happen does. So if you don't mind being frustrated with the character's decisions then you will enjoy a well-written and well-acted movie.

Entertaining Action Movie

MI2 is simply a bad movie. It is classified as an action movie but really most of it is not action, just bad dialogue. MI2's premise is not bad, Hunt trying to recover a deadly strain of influenza from his arch enemy, but it is all just flushed down the toilet. There is some action, but in no way does this film compare to its predecessor, very disappointing considering it was directed by one of the very best action directors of all time, John Woo. If you are a serious fan of MI or a Cruise fanatic then rent this (certainly don't buy it), however for casual fans of action films, you can do better by just watching the original again.

A Great Movie!

Great idea for the movie: A young man who can't take care of himself, has to take care of a 6-years-old boy (beautifully played by twins). Guest appearances by Rob Schneider and Steve Buchemi, really make a contribution to the movie. Adam, as usual, does a great job making fun of a girl throughout the movie! Not many extra features, but a great movie anyway.
You can find other reviews by me to other releases by Adam Sandler.
