Classic Doctor Who!

This was a great Doctor Who story from a great era.I have the region 2 DVD,and I have watched it alot.I thought the scariest story from The Tom Baker years was The Seeds of Doom, when I first watched that story way back when I was 7,I was afaid to turn the lights out for bed that night. It's not so scary now being a adult but it still makes you wonder "What if that Plant next to my bed wants to kill me while I sleep?" Right now a new Doctor Who series is in the works over in the UK,with Christopher Eccleston of 28 Days Later playing the Doctor, and there goal for the new series is to be scary, they want children to go running behind the soffas again.Cant wait to see it! What channel will it be on in the US?Cant see it being on PBS.The PBS station in Boston stopped showing Doctor Who years ago. It's to bad the Daleks will not be in the new show, well that could change.Well any way,way to go for the BBC to get all the old Doctor Who's out on VHS,and now the DVD's.Now how about Robot and Genesis of the Daleks on DVD?

Awesome movie!!!

I thought this was a great movie because I think it was the first movie they had a kiss with a boy and they have lots of fun in London, England. I like their names they are called Riley and Chloe. Riley is trying to kiss this boy called Brian and this is how Chloe gets her boyfriend - a boy comes out of the toilet with toilet paper on his shoe and then Chloe comes along and takes it off him with her shoes. Anyway shouldn't tell you any more without spoiling the surprise!!

Between the silliness .... there are heartfelt belly laughts

Just to see Rowan A's facial expressions change from a bumbling insincere 'oaf' to the smooth and deboniare 'James Bond' Johnny English is to appreciate a master at work. It certainly is an art ......

Not since Peter Sellers' Pink Panther days has anyone been able to take his place and really make the audience outright laugh rather than just groan at cheap Saturday Night Live type dumb dumb humour ...

Loved this movie and it's worth every penny ....

Finally! An action movie with a believable story! The sounds, the effects, the kung-fu and shoot out scenes, and of course, the bullet-time effects make this one a winner! This movie will definately make you think differently about the "real" world. What if our world really was a hoax? This film answers that question very well! A must have for any sci-fi and or action enthusiast!

Manufacturing Consent - Noam Chomsky and the Media - movie DVD cover picture
A thorough and entertaining introduction to Noam Chomsky

I originally bought this DVD because I read a review that said it's a great place to start if you don't know much about Noam Chomsky and I'd like to reaffirm that with my review. This DVD is a wonderful introduction to Noam Chomsky, his political views, and his theories of media propaganda. You should know that this is not a Noam Chomsky produced film. This is a documentary about Noam Chomsky by people that of course support his views.
Although it says "DVD release date 2002" above, you should realize that this film is kinda old. Some of the cheesy visual and sound effects are laughable, but that's not what's important with this DVD. Another thing that you should know is that this is not the type of film that you want to watch on a romantic evening with your loved one. My girlfriend was bored to tears for all THREE hours of it! Of course I was loving every minute of it. Buy it, make yourself some coffee, and watch it alone.
One more thing: Although this is no substitute for Noam Chomsky's book of the same title, this is also an excellent source of the basic ideas in the book. By the time you finish watching this documentary, you'll be able explain to your friends how the media selectively filters information in the interests of themselves, the government, and the system (not how Noam would say it) before reaching you and the history books.

Over-shadowed by Titanic

"The Man in the Iron Mask" is a wonderful movie full of intrigue and suspense. I did not see "Titanic" because: (1) too long & (2) not a leonardo fan. However, i have read Dumas and I am a John Malkovich fan. "The Man in the Iron Mask" gives them both, as well as the other cast members, due justice. Even young Leo does a great job with his dual roles. Because of the performances in this movie, I am apt to see "Titanic" and other movies with these great actors in them. END

Absolutely Hilarious

Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson wrote and directed three of my favorite movies. I love their comedic prospective along with great plots. They pick the best actors the play characters. I had watched Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums before watching Bottle Rocket. It was just as good considering the amount of money they had for making the movie. If you are a fan of witty comedy watch this movie and then watch his other two films found on the Criterion Collection. There is so much to say about this movie. Rent it or buy it. Buying it may be a mistake. Bottle Rocket will get the special edition make over. It will be released containing the special feature found on his other two releases with Criterion Collection. Plan and simple its a must see.

how films should be.

this movie is just wonderful. bah if that makes it or me sound corny, but it really is. it is so well-crafted. it is sumptuous in its simplicity, like the best cheeseburger in the world. it never gets lost in its own aspirations, and never gets bogged down in any one message, event, or moment. it's a beautifully naked story.
best of all, it is a paean to women without being a torch song. the deep love that the women of the story have for one another, and their unapologetic independence, leaves barbie-spice notions of "girl power" spitting out dust in their magic vans and canopy beds. the women here are so full, they make me laugh with joy.
stamp out cynicism. see this movie.

Very good

This was pretty good , but unfortunately, i myself didn't have i hadn't watched the show since. but recently i saw the movie. i laughed so hard my stomach ached. so i bought volumes 2 and 3 of the show as soon as i could. they were hilarious. i would have rated them 5 stars only they're edited, so i docked a star. the censors really took away from the whole shock value, the best shock value is ultimate street brawls at . but once you get past that it's awesome...
