Childhood memories relived here

This was a cool cartoon, especially considering that it was competing against the widely popular comic book, which had an on-going storyline, the characters were pretty true to the comics, most of the time, the 1983 cartoon itself was pretty colorful & fast paced, as was the following 1984 one, the series that started in 1985 lost its origin & focused on less important characters, but the 1983 & 1984 mini-series was great with all the great characters we love, now my question is this>>> where is the live motion picture, below are my pick of actors that I think should or could be casted in a live action film, they are as follows>>

Rutger Hauer(Ladyhawke) as Duke
Alicia Witt (Urban Legend) as Scarlett
Wesley Snipes as Stalker
Ray Park (Darth Maul) as Snake Eyes
Ving Rhames as Roadblock
Scott Glenn as Gung-Ho
Jude Law as Hawk
Jim Cavisel (Passoin of Christ) as Flash
Eric Bana (Troy) as Clutch
Hugh Jackman as Flint
Diane Lane or Angelina Jolie as Lady J
Rodney Grant(Dances with Wolves) as Spirit

Anyone as Cobra Commander since he has no identity
The Rock as Destro
Catherine Zeta Jones as Baroness
Jet Li as Storm Shadow
Anyone as Firefly
Willem Dafoe as Major Bludd

Gorgeous and feature-packed

While I do like Toy Story 2 better than A Bug's Life, this is only because Pixar keeps outdoing itself. Pixar's DVDs provide the best showcase for your DVD player's picture quality, and the animation is even more stunning in 1:2.35 format. The second disk is amazing, with too many features to mention and of course the antics of those crazy Pixar folks. This is not only a great family movie, but also simply a great movie.

cinematic perfection

I loved "Amadeus" from my childhood. I think it is the greatest movie of all time. However this is the first time one can see the whole uncut version of it. To be honest, I would prefer the original (the one which we all used to know). Those added episodes make the whole movie little bit long and even boring. Especially the episodes involving that family with crazy dogs. This is really unnecessary. However blackmailing scene is really wonderful, watch the great acting from both Constantsa and Salieri. They are just perfect. Besides, if not that whole scene one could wonder why there is so much hate in Constantsa at the end of the movie when she asks Salieri "to respect her wish and go". This edition includes very interesting material of making the "Amadeus", Director, actors everybody's invloved in it. So at the end I recommend this movie to everybody in the world. People, this movie is as good as it gets. The best movie of all time!

The best of movies, the worst of movies...

This is a bloody disaster of a film. Incoherent, nothing fits together, obviously stapled together from the usable bits that remained after the truly disastrous stuff was tossed. As a movie, it really doesn't work.
But taken as a collection of skits, it's a treasure. The cast is spectacular, the writing shows moments of acid-induced genius, and then there's that soundtrack.
If you think of it as a Bond-themed Monty Python episode, you won't be too far off the mark.

Pixar Have Done It Again

I normally don't purchase Region 1 DVDs, however I couldn't wait for FN to come out on DVD in Britain so I snapped it up immediately. This Pixar animation comes closest I've ever seen to turning cartoon vision into 3 dimensional reality with characters and visuals which are simply stunning. This tale of unfunny clown-fish Marlin, (Brooks) and the irrepressibly charming and cute but forgetful blue tang Dory, (Degeneres) is a heart-warming tale of paternal love, self-discovery and friendship underlying a dialogue which is nothing short of hilarious.
The underwater visualisation is enchanting, and characterisation of sea-creatures and their prey nothing short of original and side-splittingly funny - vegetarian sharks following a 12-step ''fish are friends'' program, Surfer-dude Turtles, flatulant seagulls and shape-throwing Tuna- you get the impression that Pixar have not only been cognisant of their duty to stun visually but have spent an incredible amount of time in investing in enchanting and 3-D characters which you just walk away from loving.
Degeneres steals the show with her natural comedic intonations and side-splitting interpretation of whale-talk, I was in raptures throughout. A definite contender for Disney's greatest classic (along with Lion King and Beauty and the Beast)< this is one movie I'll cherish. I haven't met one person disappointed in this movie. A confident purchase which will entertain all ages.

Five Stars?! Read this and find out why!

Okay, if you've seen this you probably can't imagine giving it five stars, but I really couldn't help myself! It should get five stars for eye candy alone though! Okay, maybe there's not much of that either, except for Helen Slater, but hey, she wears some of the hottest outfits you've ever seen in this movie! Normally she doesn't turn me on, but in this movie she pulls it off bigtime! I was a kid when this came out. A real junkie for the Superman movies and totally ready to see his hottie cousin in action. I remember seeing it at the movies and I'm not sure what I thought about it at the time, but I think I liked it. As for now, well, I rented it about a year ago, and after that couldn't help but spring for the DVD 2 pack! I must admit it was a really cool experience! Sure the story is corny and full of holes, but this is such a FUN movie! Right up there with Cloak and Dagger for 80's fun! This movie delivers, maybe not in the same way as the first two Superman films, but it still delivers! I'm not familiar with the comics. My love for comic characters is confined mainly to movies and TV, with the exception of Disney, Sailor Moon, Star Wars and Indiana Jones comics, but I'm sure most comic fans would be pleased with at least some aspects of the film. It was great to see a cameo of Jimmy Olsen from the Christopher Reeve movies! This is a really fun flick, especially if you've got a group of friends or fam to watch it with!

Street trash is the unholy grail of trash and exploitation cinema. I have been waiting for this release for years and my old vhs copy has petty much melted in my vcr from years of playing for friends who were unaware of it's infamous existence. Thank you synapse pictures for releasing this nasty movie back into the consumer market.

Will YOU dance with me?

I saw the previews for this movie and didn't expect much from it. I just imagined another slasher movie with no plot like the Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer sequels. But I did like the idea of a Cupid killer on Valentine's day. I was further drawn to this movie by Jamie Blank's directing which was pretty good in Urban Legend despite the horrible script which doomed the film. So I gave it a try and found a very fun, smartly structured movie to watch. A mix of eye candy, slash & gash horror, a well written script, and good direction made this movie one of the better modern slasher flicks. The movie really goes on the idea that few things change after Junior High except age, and really focus on the mean spirited nature of the select few children who mercilessly outcast, torture, and ridicule a fellow classmate. The suspense may be the usual walk-around-slowly-while-you-know-the-ki ller-is-in-the-room, but I didn't mind it. What I also didn't mind was the horrible acting of all the actresses in the movie, because you just want these terrible human beings to get menaced and murdered... So your free to sit back and root for the justified killer with a large list of original deaths and sets. One that sticks out in particular was the art gallery maze of television screens and strange erotic art which gets increasingly more intense and violent as the victim wanders into the killer's trap where the cherub-masked killer awaits with a bow and arrow. Very nice metaphor on how some relationships go down a scary, violent path. I think despite the murders and sets the only good actor in the movie is David Boreanez who plays Kate's borderline boyfriend Adam. At one point his voice changes from deep and scary to happy and comforting in a seamless, schizophrenic style. It also has a nice surprise ending. So if you can relate to being ridiculed in school, or like slasher movies, this movie should not be missed.
