Campaign for Koyaansiqatsi release

I hope amazon gets this DVD released. Some people consider Baraka to be in similar vein but Koy is very much the better film.
There is a website which is organising a campaign to have the film released on DVD. It describes the legal wrangles involved as there are now several studios claiming the rights, so no one studio is releasing it.

The First "Real" Account

Shiva Damienson has got it all wrong. Every other movie about the New Testamont has been inacurate in their dipiction of Christ's crusifixtion. If you've seen movies like Jesus of Nazereth and others from that era, than your eyes will be opened when you see this film. If you consider the film to be overly violent than stay away from it, even if you are a Christian like me. I am a Christian and was disturbed by the violence, but that was because it was commited against my savior: an inoccent man. The movie is rated R for a reason, so this movie is not appropriate for a younger audience, but for anyone who has the stomach to handle it, than see it.

The Greatest Movie of All Time

On the waterfront, in my opinion, is the greatest movie ever made. It had everything pathos, romance, and while it did'nt have a happy ending(a big plus) it left you as life sometimes does unresolved but with a feeling of hope. When I first saw the movie on WOR years ago I think thats when I first became aware of injustice and the courage of those who fight(most times against the odds) injustice and prevail. I truly believe that whatever activist leanings I have started with this movie. Very impressed Stings now as it did then. A must see for its subject-might v right, it's acting-method- and the direction of one of the greastest film directors of all time.Who directed the greatest actor this country has ever produced Marlon Brando.

I don't know why I love this movie so much...

It's hilarious, that's why! My friend Kat first introduced me to this movie about a year ago, and now I can't stop watching it! It's got a great storyline and that stupid song will get stuck in your head for weeks! :D (...)

An entertaining film

Bruce Willis plays a difficult role in this film, he plays it well. The acting in this movie is superb all around. In the end we begin to care deeply about the two protagonists. That's incredible in itself, how often do we even have an inkling to care about a Bruce Willis character?
In this film we are introduced to Bruce Willis playing a psychiatric patient who thinks he's a time traveler. Sure, this plot has been done before, but never this well. Also, there are numerous twists in this film, all of which make it very entertaining. Towards then end though, you can figure out the "surprise" finish, but it doesn't matter.
Visually this film is great, I would recommend getting a DVD version of this if possible. Either way you'll enjoy it. It can be graphic at times, and the visual look of the "future" in this film is a bit unbelievable, and quite frankly very weird.
In the end, this is a great film. You can sit and watch it and enjoy it thoroughly. It's a film you can watch twice, though the ending is known, it forces you into a thoughtful state of wonder. Or something along that affect. Anyway, it's worth the price of admission. Though you may want to rent it first.

A must for any KISS fan!!

I have been a fan for some time. When this came out I was shocked at how good it really is. I rank this as one of their top 3 best pieces of work. The video is great! Sound is perfect! You even get one extra song not available on the USA cd. This is why you must have this video...this song should have been on the cd. Also you get a neat history of the reunion. I highly recommend this one!!!!

10 times better than the first, but not for small kids

this movie is 10 times better than the first (which was very stunning). It's not good for small children for 2 reasons, 1 it's very long (30 miniutes longer than the first 3 hour movie) the added scenes do make the movie better though for somone with patience, good taste, and likings for the lord of the rings. and the second reason is more violince and ect. which brings me to the conclution that it should almost be rated R.

Unbelievable and enigmatic

Having just watched Barton Fink a second time, I come to the realization that I should probably watch it another 4 or 5 times in order to begin to get a grasp on the many layers and symbolic directions that are to be found within this bizarre & beautiful piece of celluloid. I feel as though I have grasped a bit more of the film that upon my first viewing, but I am even more lost within its ocean. Nazism & antisemitism, leftist ideology, writer's block, the cheapening of art, murder, dementia, Hell, the Devil, the Bible, and Hollywood, all mixed into one pot of film gumbo. Another interesting point I picked up on my latest viewing, this movie begins with an ending(the curtain falls on Barton's play) and ends with a beginning(a young man meets a beautiful woman on a beach). Just one more example of the jigsaw puzzle pieces that the Coen brother's have layed out before us.

Beautifully Moving!

I recently saw Celtic Woman in Boston, after only seeing bits and pieces of this video on public television. I was blown away at the concert by the magnificence of their voices and special lighting effects. On the way out, I heard someone say that they stuck very close to the songs and style on the video, which led me to buy this. The video was filmed inside an auditorium, so it differed from the breezy outdoor arena where I saw them, but the clarity of the music and the softly sung passion in their voices came through quite nicely. They sing so effortlessly and the music just fills my soul and takes me back to that warm summer night in Boston where I first heard them. The fiddler who tosses her beautiful blonde hair, while leaping around on the stage without missing a beat is quite something to see as well. The rich harmonies and melodies will transport you to wherever you want to go in your mind - just sit back, dim the lights and enjoy!

When Harry Met Sally... - movie DVD cover picture
One of the funniest movies ever. Out-Woodys Woody.

This is one of the sweetest, funniest, and most enjoyable movies I have ever seen. I am amazed that even a few critics despised it. This film, to me, is realistic, sentimental, and often hilarious (as in the double phone conversation, the lecture on life and love by Harry to Sally on the airplane, and the notorious orgasm-in-the-diner scene). But don't expect to enjoy this movie if you did not like ANNIE HALL.
