Love Actually (Full Screen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture
Brought tears to my eyes

I am usually an action movie buff or comedy guy, portions of this film really got at me. This movie was really heartwarming, and I nearly cried as I could relate to one particular story of love pertaining to Juliet (Keira Knightley), Peter, and his good friend Mark. A very good movie! I can guarantee everyone can relate to at least one character and/or their story of love.

Sheer magic!

Fantastic Federico Fellini feature film. I can't wait to have this on DVD. The viewer just glides through beautiful images only Fellini could create. The Wagnerian music compliments Nino Rotta's magical score. Watch La Dolce Vita first if you've never watched a Fellini film before because this film is stricly and essentially Fellini!

2 Versions of "Sometimes" bonus!

...To see the different version of "Sometimes", go to the [Videos] section. It has a different scene near the beginning with more from the group dancing on the pier.If you want to see the version that we are all familiar with, go to the [Making The Videos] section, and enter the time value T: /4/ 29:14 on your remote, and it will take you straight to the as-aired version. You will notice that the picture is not as sharp, but it's the difference between DVD, and the LaserDisc or SuperVHS that was sent to the TV networks originally. It's not that big a difference, but you do notice it. ...

Soothing Waters California and Oregon Beaches

Well I finally gave in and ordered this and I have to say I'm very pleased with what I saw.The picture is sharp and the sound is great. This dvd features coastal views of California and Orgeon and is just accompined by natural sounds.I liked the whole disc but I had some favorite chapters.
1)My favorite scene in this chapter was a overlook of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park South Of Big Sur California. It shows a small beach and a waterfall. This waterfall isn't a waterfall caused by ocean waves as they pound rocks but it is a waterfall that falls into the sea off of a cliff or mountain.Although it is hard to see thru the fog and mist it's still a beautiful site and if you have a zoom feature on your player you can see a little more detail. Also you here waterfall and ocean sounds at the same time when the waterfall is falling into the ocean.
4)Point Lobos California This features some huge waves crashing against rocks and minature waterfalls caused by waves hitting rocks.
7)Oregon Coast This has some massive coastal rocks mostley in the ocean and the waves hitting these rocks are so beautiful.
Aside from ocean sounds I heard sea lions but didn't see any.I also heard some gulls in chapter 8 but didn't see any.The wind on this dvd actually sounds like thunder but I didn't here it but twice. The oceanviews change every 20 seconds. This is very peaceful. There's no people, traffic sounds, music or narration just the breathtaking sounds of the ocean. This is like taking a solitary vacation on a beach. If your landlocked and no where near the ocean I highley recommend it.This dvd has everything lapping waves, big crashing waves, waterfalls, huge boulders, wind and mist and fog but only a few scenes are misty and foggy. The only problem I noticed with this dvd is the spine on the keep case.Soothing Waters is written upside down.Because of this I will have to store it upside down so it will go with my other dvds. Also the producer plans to do more beaches as well as waterfalls around the world I hope he will do Niagara Falls. That would be a most perfect dvd.

As usual, LOVE IT!

Like with everything Bjork I love this DVD. I love to see the creative processes that she goes through and the continuous rubbing of legs, face, hair and licking of the lips always makes laugh (in the best hearted way possible)!!

Like the rest I was disappointed that the 5.1 mix of the album is missing but hopefully that will be out soon.

simply put...a supurb film

I had been told about this movie several times by friends and co-workers before I had seen it. I heard nothing but praise for the movie and so I decided to rent it to see for myself what all the fuss was about. I enjoyed the movie so much that I watched it twice before I returned it to the video store. My 14 year old daughter is also a movie buff and she also loved the movie. She very much enjoyed Natalie Portman and I was touched by the relationship that sparked up between Leon and Matilda. A wonderful movie that will linger in your mind for days after you see it. I only hope I can find it on VHS...gotta have my own copy!!!! For anyone out there who may not have seen it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. It really is an awesome movie!

Filmmaking at its best!

For all those cretins out there who rated this movie with one star, what were you thinking? I'll admit half of you are just too ignorant to follow a simple plot line, but what about the other half? Everyone is blowing smoke about how they ruined the movie by revealing all this 'Leonards a dirty killer' at the very end. But if you open your eyes, you'll realize they clued us into the ending constantly during the movie. Why do you think Natalie was so mean to him at first meeting? He was wearing the suit of her boyfriend, and driving his car! Why do you think Teddy was telling him not to trust her all the time? Plain and simple, people who gave this movie a bad review, are probably fans of films such as Scream 3 or Ace Ventura. They dont like a plot line and ending you have to think much about. They just like being told what happened and accepting it, no matter how ridiculous. For fans of intelligent AND highly entertaining movies (im not an art house fan) pick this one up. But if you need to be constantly told whats happening, then I would suggest avoiding it.

South Park - Bigger, Longer & Uncut - movie DVD cover picture
Only for the "TRUE" South Park fan!

See this film for what it is - one of the funniest satires ever - the fact that its a badly drawn cartoon is irrelevant. The funniest comedy I think I have ever seen, and not just me.. I have never heard a cinema crowd laugh that much. I'd advise buying this on DVD just so you can catch the dialogue drowned out by the hilarity at the cinema. There are enough subtle jokes and digs at other movies to make this a thinking mans film. Appealed on many levels to me. The pace does slow down somewhat after the first half hour , but frankly, if it hadn't I would be dead from laughing so much :]

Galaxy Quest - DTS - movie DVD cover picture
Why isn't there a Quest for a Sequel?

Most times I think movies stand on their own and should not be sequelized. This movie however is a great parody of SciFi and Star Trek in particular. The cast is superb and will have you laughing throughout the movie. Top notch special effects and music. Directing can't be beat either. This winning combination made it a hit with most audiences, not just SciFi fans. So I ask again why no sequel? For fans of drama only, you may want to see something else since this is excellent comedy done by those that have done marvelous drama as well. THIS IS COMEDY, NOT DRAMA! I would be especially surprised if anyone that has gone to a SciFi convention didn't find this hysterically fun.

If by chance you have not seen this movie the story goes that a group of actors/actress that starred in a series like Star Trek are appearing at a SciFi convention. At the convention a group of aliens approaches the Commander played by Tim Allen. He thinks they are just convention goers in costume that want him for a gig at another place. When he finds out they have have modelled their spaceship and lifes after the TV show, life gets weird and very funny. The cast must have had a blast doing these roles. Tim Allen and Tony Shalhoub we expect in comedy, but Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman have usually played more dramatic roles. They all do wonderful jobs of making you laugh.

The DVD quality is excellent and includes a documentary and deleted scenes you will love. Picture and sound were sharp and no problems with playing. Nice menu interface that matches the theme of the movie. I highly recommend adding it to your collection.

Don't see this

I saw the movie in the theater. My wife put it on the video not long ago for the relatives. The opening line... "I had a farm in Africa" made me start crying - just knowing what was coming. I had to leave the room and read a book instead.
