Better on VHS

Unfortunately, for Sailor Moon fans, the manufacturers have completely messed around with the originally amazing Sailor Moon series. Certain episodes like Serena Times Two doesn't belong on The Doom Tree Series. The VHS version is much better because it follows the original format. In my opinion though, The Doom Tree Series was the best series out of Sailor Moon.

In The Mouth Of Madness

I thought that this was an excellent horror movie. I like the concept of Reality being mixed with fiction and not being able to tell what is real. I think that this is one of the best horroe movies of the 90's along with Event Horizion. I just wanted to know what story by H.P. Lovecraft this was based on.

Two thumbs up! Oscar Worthy.

I saw "Hotel Rwanda" yesterday. What a touching, powerful movie! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I wasn't the only person in the theater who cried. I was emotionally spent by the end of the film. Even so, I found the brave acts of Paul Rusesabagina to be inspiring.

"Hotel Rwanda" should have been nominated for a "Best Picture" Oscar! The cast is awesome, especially Don Cheadle. I hope he wins the "Best Actor" Oscar. My sister and mother have seen this film based on my recommendation. I've also started telling my friends about it. More people should go see this excellent film!

Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition) - movie DVD cover picture

Hi all!

I gotta share this! This is extrcated from an e-mail I sent out late 2004

As I sit here, I am totally astounded...

I have just put in disk 1 of the 4 disk "Star Wars Original Trilogy'' box set, released in the UK yesterday Monday the 20th, namely "Star Wars - A New Hope", into my Pioneer DV575 player, and what appeared on my SHARP 32" (82cm) 16:9 flat screen has truly made my jaw drop! I have never seen DVD quality like this....NEVER!

The colours, oh man...the colours! The clarity.....the sound.....the sound is so good I had to turn my system down!

"Lord of the Rings Trilogy"? Oh please! Sit down and shut-up! "Alien Quadrilogy"? Sit down and shut up!

"A New Hope" looks like it was shot yesterday, let alone 1975!

I must admit that I am fortunate enough to have a system that allows for the maximum picture quality allowed by modern, current, conventional (Interlaced) systems, namely RGB (via SCART output / input) allowing for pretty much the optimum of the PAL spectrum, namely 625i resolution, which is pretty much just the next thing down from full-blown Progressive-Scan quality (625p) via Component output / input. The result though, via interlaced RGB input, on my 16:9 flat screen, is distractingly good! The colours and resolution clarity of the picture that I'm witnessing is almost too much!

Even if, for whatever strange reason, you are not into "Star Wars" or have never seen the films ( have you been??), but you are at least a film fan, then do your self a huge favour, buy or at least rent this box it, do it, do it!

The Best Martin Scorsese Film....

The best Martin Scorsese film i've seen since Goodfellas.Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci(the best of the cast), Sharon Stone and the rest of the cast are just amazingly good to watch and see what can do on any film they have made late in their own careers.A Must-See, All-Time Classic film and a Worth-Owning one too.

A Study in the Ways of the Imagination

Pandaemonium is one of the better films I've seen in a long time. Some of its themes are much like the ideas (ala Hassan i Sabbah & assassins & hunger for paradise) that have attracted me lately. It is about the poets Wordsworth & Samuel Taylor Coleridge (who wrote "Kubla Khan"). The exploration of the creative force, mingled with the seeking to see deep into reality is amazing (Coleridge tried to do it with opium, and both succeeded and kind of destroyed himself in the process). The movie is based on real history but I think it took some liberties to make it a more powerful story. Coleridge also wrote "The Ancient Mariner," and that poem is incredible, I've even more taken by it to see it so lushly explored in a visual sense in how the idea and language came to Coleridge. There's some really funny parts too, like a time when they eat datura and almost fall up off the world (or their perceptions convince them they are about to, and then they start playing with it, realizing the joke, but still pretending that they can fall up.) There's a scholarly literary study on Coleridge published in 1927 called "The Road to Xanadu - A Study in the Ways of the Imagination" by John Livingstone Lowes, a brilliant book, and I wonder if the filmmakers got many of their ideas and details from that book.

Another Wiggles Fan

Okay, I'll add my two cents worth to the 100 or so other reviews: This is a great video for kids! Not only does it feature fun, upbeat music, it also gets kids MOVING! With a nation full of children who spend a lot of time playing their gameboys or in front of the TV, this is a wonderful alternative. You can't help but get up and "wiggle" when such songs as "Captain Feathersword" or "Hot potato" come on. I prefer this video over any of the Barney videos, and while yes, it doesn't have many children in it, that's okay, because The Wiggles are very entertaining in themselves. My four year old son LOVES this video and asks for it repeatedly. We are purchasing more for him, as well as to give as gifts. I think it's a MUST HAVE if you have young children. And if YOU really want your kids to laugh, join in with the moves yourself. You'll be glad you did!

Killer Klowns is awesome.

Killer Klowns from outer space is the greatest movie of all time. It is extremely generic but that is what makes it so funny and great. It is definitely a must see movie.
