Best out of 3

Do not listen to these Joes saying "Oh this movie is so good!" This movie is bad. Very. It's nothing compared to the MAGNIFICENT first. I can't believe this movie got a 5 in Amazon! I mean, the whole world is dumber when the movie was released. I hope there will NEVER be another Swan Princess...

A must-have for your little princess!

My 3 year old daughter started ballet lessions 2 months ago. She loves it. This movie made her feel special. She saw Barbie and Kelly doing ballet. The mouse king was scary to her at first however by the middle of the movie, she was yelling "Bad Mouse King- Stop It!" Plus the special NY ballet segment on this DVD was very fascinating and educational. My daughter also enjoyed this segment. Seeing other ballerinas made her practice her own steps and she saw the result of practicing.I love this movie and highly recommend it.

Modern Retelling of Yellow Wallpaper

The miracle of this film is that somehow Todd Haynes makes it compelling to watch Julianne Moore play Carol White, an inspid waif completely lost and languishing in the asylum of her huge house in San Fernando Valley. She's not even a sympathetic character as we watch her, confronting her boredom by shopping and going on fruit diets, disintegrate from a drab, soulless, wife to a sexless hypochondriac who regresses to the infant state, abandoning her family and moving to a "sanctuary" where she will find a "toxic-free, safe environment." The film succeeds as a satire against happy therapy speak, bovine middle-class self-help cliches, unctuous, self-help charlatans, panacea-promising infomercials, and the kind of needy people who lack the moral fortitude to confront their own weaknesses so instead rely on conspiracy theories and other kinds of scapegoats to explain their repellent personalities, blaming chemicals, for example, for their own ineptness. Carol White and her fellow acoyltes at the "sanctuary" are all brain-numbed on the humorless cult of New Age therapy, giving credence to a motivation speaker who lives in a grand mansion overlooking the shack house squalor of his followers. Ironically, Carol White is even more of a prisoner in her new "safe house" as she was in her husband's home. If you want to bite on an pungent appetizer before watching this brilliant two-hour film, first read Charlotte Perkins Gilman's famous short story "The Yellow Wallpaper." It will really get you in the mood for the kind of insanity rendered in "Safe."

Burning hot

Berny Mac gave one of his best performances in this movie. He was hilarious, in the scene where Jamie Fox (Blue) entered his office to talk about the money he was taking out of his check. "You aint notin' you don't get notin' and you don't deserve notin' All you do is spin records. Who you think you is DJ Quik, Kid Kupree no you must be Jimmy Walker." Up until the end when he asks, "Why are the girls being prohibited." Bernie Mac along with Adele Givens, Jamie Fox and AJ Johnson made this movie and all time favorite.

Took my breath away!

For anyone who is doubtful that films can be considered as an art form, this one will prove otherwise. Leni Riefenstahl is without doubt one of the most talented directors ever. She can capture both the sublime and the grandiose so movingly and beautifully, that one gasps for breath watching this movie. Indeed, she belonged to a party that among other things, threw babies alive into fiery pits. I am not here to judge her as a person. But, as a moviemaker, she is pure genius.

Better then the first one

Wow. That is the only word that comes to mind after watching this movie masterpiece. There is a unfortunate trend in hollywood that sequels are worse then the orgianal. Toy Sory 2 proves that that is not always true. It also joins the ranks of sequels that are actually better then the origianal movie. This is the absoloute best movie sequel I have ever seen in my life. In fact its even better then the great origianal. Everything in this movie is fantastic, fantastic story that is more in-depth then the origianal, funny memorable charachters, absouloutly breathtaking animation, fantastic music, no shortage of humor and comedy, and better yet more action then the origianal. The story to Toy Story 2 is great and more in-depth then the origianal, exploring the question "what is the meaning of life?" beyond that Woody has been kidnapped by a big fat man who steals kids toys and is a filthy dealer. Buzz and the rest of the fantastic charachters must rescue him while woody tries to figure out a dilema. Should he go back to Andy, even though he will get thrown away eventually? or will he go to a toy museum in Japan and be loved by children from behind glass for many years to come? The cast of Toy story 2 is the exact same from the origianal, with a few new faces (Wheezy the penguin, Jessie the Cowgirl, Bullsye the horse, Stinky Pete the Prospector and the awsome and cool Evil Emporor Zurg). The animation for this movie is the most breathtaking you will ever see in a animated movie, every leaf, every crack in the road, every nail, every pebble of dirt is animated in superb style and grace. The music remains pretty much the same tune from the origianal, with a few new themes and a neat woodys roundup song. One thing the origianal Toy Story was famous for was its great sense of humor. Many a person would laugh at Buzz's "You are a sad strange little man and you have my pity" The sequel has no shortage of that ether. There are almost infinate parodys and jokes at big movies (Star Wars and a really funny Jurrasic park one to name a few) The first one was also chock full of inside jokes. Again this one has no shortage of that either. A Bugs life products are plentifully hidden in the movies, a vehicle from the origianal is on a road shot, the disney Pixar logo on Buzz's bottom in a very short shot, lots of funny shots when Ham is zooming through the TV channels, are all just a few of the funny shots in this movie. There is no shortage of Action in this, especially the Elevator battle sequence. This is truly a film for the ages.

The Bad: Jessie can get very annoying
And the Ugly: None!

Recent TV siteings of actual dodgeball events.

Vaughn shines again in a dry impressive role as Peter LeFleur a boys club gym hanging on in the shadow of the Globo Gym giant run by ben stiller. It's as if Derek Zoolander has all grown up and become a gym giant. This movie is filled with chilling moments brought to you by a highschooler, pirate, and over zealous wanna be athlete. The cast outgrows the screen as the movie runs it's coarse. You cant decides if you'd rather see more Vaughn, Stiller or Taylor. Or is it a Me-Shell your looking for. The cast has great chemistry as a team and as enemies. Two eager thumbs up and a large movie cola to boot. Vince is really holding his own, and owning another genre of movies. Psychotic to comedy. NOBODY does it better.

My favorite movie of all time

Bottom line, this movie is awesome! I never even really watched the Powerpuff Girls until my sister bought me this movie as a joke for my 19th birthday (I'm a guy). Obviously I thought that this movie would be to "kid-ish" for me. How inconceivably wrong I was. I never imagined how great this movie would be. When we watched it, I couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire movie. Since then I have become a huge Powerpuff Girls fan, mainly because the series is so well done, and I've never seen violence and cuteness blend so well (I don't think I've ever even seen it attempted actually). I could go into depth of everything I loved about this movie and all the references it makes to pop-culture and such, but everyone before me has done that so I'll stick to the main points. First off, as you probably already know, the movie is a prequel to the series. It shows how the Powerpuff Girls were created, and how Mojo came to be their arch nemesis. The film is non-stop action and cuteness, a nice break from the mind-numbing lameness of most "superhero" movies. Although it is advertised as a "children's movie", I think this film is definitely entertaining to all ages, if not more so to teenagers and adults (my opinion). As I've said there is quite a bit of violence, but not anymore than the series. I think that if you let your kid watch the TV show, then this movie shouldn't be any worse. This however is only my opinion and that decision should be left to you. Another thing about this movie and the TV show as that the soundtrack (the music in the background) is so perfectly orchestrated for every scene. It really makes every scene and action sequence so much more enjoyable. My only complaint is about the DVD and is of course the lack of widescreen, this is an action movie. The plot in this film is not twisting at every corner obviously, but there is an actual plot, and I guess you can find some "morals" in it too. I wont go into what happens in the movie, because that wouldn't really be a good review. I love all the characters though, especially the girls themselves. You would never think that someone could make such adorable superheroes that are so entertaining. Mojo Jojo is also very entertaining, and the dialogue is great. This is dragging on so I'll wrap it up. This movie can be enjoyed by die-hard Powerpuff Girls fans and people who have never even heard of them before. I must mention one more thing. Someone else in a review said that if you are a "monkey fan" you should see this movie because there are a lot of monkeys in it. If you are a monkey fan, I really don't think you should see this movie. Sure there are a lot of monkeys at one point, but I'm not gonna say how many are left at the end of the film. All in all this movie is fantastic and has grown to be my favorite movie of all time (no joke), and therefore I highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you.

You can not go Wong with Boris Karloff

If Peter Lorre (Rosenberg, Austria-Hungary [now Ruzomberok, Slovakia]) can be Mr. Moto "Mr. Moto's Last Warning (1939)," then Boris Karloff (Camberwell, London, England, UK) can be Mr. Wong.
Actually these six films are quite entertaining. I paid a little less, but they were on VHS. The DVDs being a set will save on shipping. They may last a little longer also. So put on your thinking hat and buy the set.
