A totally awesome arthurian experiance!

This is one hell of a movie, its (totally) different from all the other arthurian remakes. Merlin's place in the movie is totally defined, Sam Neill is a great actor - but im not sure about merlin the teenager, maybe cause he's still inexperianced. But of course, there's always a black sheep in the way, guess who? Queen Mab, the actress is good, but Mab is annoying! OK i have no time left, overall the movie is totally exciting fit for the whole family so just but it okay? Thanks for reading....

To all the doubters

The Cast is amazing including Tony Award winners(MAX CASELLA) and other great actors. The Directing is Great, The Music is Amazing, the story line perfect. The movie is an instant classic. I saw the movie when it first came out in a sneak preview double feature, and i am still in love with the movie. Christian Bale is a great actor, singer, and performer. The movie he is currently working on is sure to be an instant classic(The Batman beginnings). To all those in doubt see the movie and judge it for yourself!

The best of the season

Robert Redford did a fantastic job, both acting and directing. It brings us back to a time when actors actually had to act. All of the emotions of the actors came across to the viewer withour sex or violence...a rarity in this day and age

Absolutely Stunning!!!

I've been a fan of Beth's since Immortal and last month on a whim i checked for any new releases by her, and i swear to you i about fell outta my chair when i saw this. i've wanted nothing more for over two years now than to see Beth Hart live.

Now that i've seen the dvd, oh man, it is worth every penny and should totally be more than what's being charged on this site.

Another reviewer doesn't like "Am i the one" which is totally cool, but to see how she interacts with the crowd on that one....she has the whole auditorium SIT DOWN while she joins them on the floor. It's insane.

In this age of Britney's and J-Lo's passing rehashed performances off as being an artist, this dvd shows why it is indeed a shame that Beth's not more popular. She doesn't just sing the songs and play the instruments, she LIVES the songs, gets into them til they have her gyrating on the floor or in the lap of a girl in the front row!!!!

And the cool thing is, yeah she sounds like a hippie, but it's totally her, everything about her is REAL. she's so f*cking happy to be there and any adulation from the crowd sends her into a laughing fit. it's amazing.

I'd love nothing more than to meet beth and give her a big hug and thank her for all the times she's given me goosebumps just by the power of her voice.

So yeah if you're any kind of fan, buy this, this will add to the hardcore fans love for beth and certainly cement any casual fans into the hardcore niche.

rock on BETH!!

In Living Color - Season 3 - movie DVD cover picture
Bold and original...!

Nominated for 17 Emmys in its short four-year stint, In Living Color is widely considered the best skit comedy show since SNL. Created by the multitalented star Keenen Ivory Wayans (the eldest child from a large and talented family), the 30-minute TV show became an instant hit for emerging big network competitor FOX in the spring of 1990. Showcasing the talents of the Wayans family (especially blockbuster talent Damon Wayans), along with initial cast members David Alan Grier, Tommy Davidson, Kim Coles, T'keyah "Crystal" Keymah, Kelly Coffield, and Jim Carrey (who would use the show as a springboard to smash hit movie career that would begin with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in 1994), In Living Color quickly achieved the status of TV cult icon...

Along with clever, cutting-edge writing, In Living Color featured a plethora of talented cast members who would move on to enormously successful Hollywood careers. The show's dance troop, The Fly Girls, hired an ambitious dancer named Jennifer Lopez for the show's final season, and Season 2 of the show involved the hire of Oscar Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx (of Collateral and Ray). For its final season, In Living Color also featured notable appearances by comedian Chris Rock. Along the way, the series would create a number of legendary recurring characters such as Homey D. Clown (Damon Wayans), Fire Marshall Bill (Jim Carrey), and Men on Film (Damon Wayans & David Alan Grier)...

In Living Color (Season 3) DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere "Homey the Sellout: Part 2" which features comedy sketches "Pee Wee's Adult Adventure," "Misery II," and the Homey D. Clown skit "Homey the Sellout" (Part 2 of 2)... Other notable episodes from Season 3 include "Green Eggs and the Guvment Cheese" which features skits "Jesse Jackson Children's Books" and "Fire Marshall Bill," and "Santa Fire Marshall Bill" which features skits "Great Moments in Black History" and "Homey D. Clown"...

The Holy Grail of blaxploitation (as far as I'm concerned)

Usually when the word "blaxploitation" is heard by a moderate movie buff, the first film that comes to mind is something like SHAFT or SUPERFLY. Now that is a pity because even though they're both good films their enterainment and personality level dosn't manage to reach BLACK CAESAR. This film is excellent, violent, funny (mostly unintentionally) and fairly unusual for a blaxploitation film; the main character, Tommy Gibbs (Fred "The Hammer" Williams) is a complete loser who starts of as a shoe-shine boy who gets it from white coppers, then he can't get the girl he wants and he ends up getting gunned down in front of Tiffany's! Director, Larry Cohen (IT'S ALIVE, GOD TOLD ME TO) also manages to capture a lot of Harlem's sleazy atmosphere. James Brown's funky themesong 'Down and Out of New York City' go's down nicely too. Fred and Larry returned to make a sequel (!) HELL UP IN HARLEM (despite the fact that he dies here!). In a recent interview with The Hammer in Shock Cinema, magazine he says that he dosn't really have any memories of Cohen except that he was a very weird guy!

remarkable

Take a culture that usually turns out trash and an actor who usually delivers trashy violence and somehow the director, the writers and Mel himself have turned out a truly brilliant movie, reminiscent of Grapes of Wrath, totally different from the usual Hollywood junk that so wounds America's image abroad - and it's aboput ordinary. poor. unglamorous, normal people.
Should be compulsory viewing. Slightly frantic in its piling of calamities upon the characters but the real high point is where the steel plant workers do NOT beat up the scab farm workers after the strike. At last, something American where the plot is not about sex, money, violence and fantasy.

Classic Comedy by Masters of Comedy

When I was a kid, I think I caught this movie in a second go-round at a local theater, and have loved it ever since. It has all the great classic comedic stars, in truly great side splitting comic skits, all strung together in one movie like some cinematic Rube Goldberg machine....who cares if it is long! This movie is a true comic gem. Some of the current creators of adolescent and juvenile off-color brainless “comedy” movies should watch this movie and learn from it. I couldn’t even choose a favorite bit, they are ALL good.....the bit with Micky Rooney and Buddy Hackett desparately trying to fly an airplane with a drunk unconscious pilot(Jim Backus); the bit with Sid Caesar and Edie Adams accidently setting off fireworks in the basement of the hardware store; Ethyl Merman as a nagging mother-in-law with the dead-beat surfer son who can do no wrong; Phil Silvers conniving; Terry Thomas rattling on and on in his unruffled British manner, while everything falls apart (great humor that predates Monty Python).... If comedy is the best medicine, then this is the one comic movie worth buying to cure anything.

Jim Carrey's Best Job So Far

You should read other reviews for details about this movie.

I liked "Liar, Liar", but none of Carrey's other comedies. Then along came "The Truman Show", a really good drama. Next came "The Majestic", which was even better. Now it is "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", a truly GREAT movie, with fantastic performances by the entire cast. Jim Carrey is truly a great dramatic actor; and this is the first performance in which I liked Kate Winslet.

This is a complex movie; you may need to watch it twice to understand all of its nuances. But it is absolutely a GREAT movie, deserving an Oscar.
