An anime classic

Blalantly put the Tenchi series is flat out incredible. It has a perfect blend of romance, humor, action, and storyline. This movie is a bit more on the serious side compared to the others. But it is still very impressive.
There isn't a boring part in the movie. Ryoko and Ayeka's feud is hilarious. Mihoshi as a teacher......what else needs to be said.
KAIN kinda reminds me of Zerim from Iria........

Duvall's rebuttal to ANY Scarlet Letter movie...I've seen.

Robert Duvall's performance as Sonny in 'The Apostle' is absolutely amazing--there is never a moment where he falters. As the star, director, and screenwriter, he basically holds the film together. The supporting players are just as realistic & poignant--including a surprisingly understated turn by Farrah Fawcett & a touching scene with Billy Bob Thorton. 'The Apostle' is a shamefully underlooked movie. Those who are wary should ignore the religious sentiment & the Duvall 'labor-of-love' shtick.

Making Tennis a Fun Game

After being an INCONSISTENT player for over 40 years this video tape has shown me how to keep the ball in play. I've read numerous tennis books and viewed a number of videos, but nothing has changed my game like this video. The grip and backswing solved my problem. In my opinion this is the best video tape on the market today for improving your basic skills. I highly recommend it.

an ultimate early 1990s show

Saved by the Bell was one of the most popular shows of the early 1990s, and possible the most popular children's programs of the 1990s among Ghostwriter and a few others. It was the original teenybopper show, which first premiered on Saturday mornings in 1988. It got so popular that NBC decided to move it to weekly afternoons for children to rush home and watch after school! I used to watch it every single day of the week with my brother and sister, and the next morning my classmates and I would talk about the previous episode. My favourite episodes were when Bayside High held a competitive beauty contest and Jessie tried to crash it, and Screech ended up winning it! It was a great show in the 1990s. I must admit, when you look at the old episodes now, it does seem cheesy and overdone, which is only because today a lot of new films and shows have copied Saved by the Bell. Ever since the show folded in 1994, no teen shows have ever rose up to SBTB's popularity. There were [weak] shows such as Hang Time, USA High, The New Class, Just Deal, etc that were JUST never as good or popular.
Saved by the Bell on DVD: a must for any fans, for any early 1990s nostalgia!!!!

Starsky and Hutch Complete First Season

If you are a true Starsky and Hutch fan as I, you'll appreciate all the effort put forth in these DVD's. The quality is excellent, the restoration near perfect, there are a few clitches here and there but nothing that takes away from the episodes whatsoever. All the episodes that I have watched so far are uncut. Savage Sunday will be the true test if the extra footage is in there or not. The extra interviews are just the ticket given by Paul Glaser, David Soul and Antonio Fargus's insight/hindsight on the series, along with William Blinn and Aaron Spelling giving lengthy views on the development of the series and what in their opinions made the series such a success. Also to top things off, is an owner of one of the orginal show cars with a really detailed look at the car and what made it make such a lasting impression. (Makes me appreciate my 76 S&H Torino even more!) I can only hope that the rest of the series 2, 3 and 4 are also released subsequently with the same attention to quality as these were, buy and enjoy!

Charming and Heartwarming

I waited forever for this movie to be released to DVD. It was more than worth the wait. Penny Marshall has done it again, directing a film that struck all the right cords in me...much like the movie "Where the Heart Is" ( A masterpiece itself-not to be missed).
Drew Barrymore plays Beverly, a fifteen year old who spoils her father's (James Wood) life plan to have a perfect family by getting knocked up at the age of 15. While her family ponders what to "do" with her, Beverly has a plan already in formation(She IS a talented and smart girl after all). She will get a job, finish high school, and go to college. Her parents don't want a family crisis or controversy, so they convince her to marry the father of her child instead(Steve Zahn), who is a washed-up drip of a loser, yet a willing father and husband. Bev agrees, not wanting to cause her family any more grief.
While this movie is meant to be dramatic, it offers some outright laughs during very intense scenes. At Beverly's wedding (she wears pink) her best friend Fran (The VERY talented Brittany Murphy from "Girl Interupted" and "Don't Say a Word") announces to the wedding crowd that she is also pregnant. Could Bev's father have a worse nightmare?
Fran and Bev buddy up, sticking together through life's "What have I done?" moments...missing out on the prom, watching their friends go off to college, having babies together, and doing anything they can to make money and leave their small town. They quickly realize their dreams of each giving birth to two girls( which they hope will grow up and be just like them), two pretty houses, and being best friends forever is not quite reality when there is no money, wandering husbands, and your water breaks. "How gross Mom!" Bev shouts as real life intervenes. -real life- Take 1.
Drew plays a magnificent roll as a young mother who's character spans 20 years from the birth of her son. She is a convincing actress at every age. While she may be a self-admitted irresponsible parent and make terrible life choices through the years, she is a good mother..despite the fact that she blames everyone, including her son for her misfortunes.
I was particularly moved by the ending to this movie. The "ride" getting there is just as poignant as you follow Bev's life from a young girl to a mature woman striving to be a great writer and publish her personal memoirs titled appropriately "Riding in Cars With Boys". A perfect title for a woman who had life changing experiences everytime she did ride in a car with the men in her life. I highly recommend this film to all. I will go as far and say that it is also a must-own for anyone that appreciates a 'see-it-more-than-once' flick.

Action-packed and worth every penny!

The movie is not for the shoot'em up, crash bang crowd. While watching the movie I felt that we were seeing the dirty underbelly of espionage.
Frankenheimer did a great job a creating the look and feel of dangerous professionals going about their jobs in the shadows of society.
From the beginning Deniro paints a great picture of a cautious professional spy that has lived a long time and plans on living longer.
There are some good twists in the movie. And overall the acting was excellent especially Deniro and Reno.
For fans of good storytelling or espionage buffs this is a can't miss!

Unique chick-flic

My family and friends constantly mock me for loving this film, but their opinions matter little. To me this film is not addictive because of the love story, but because of the athletic come-from-behind victory theme. Athletes can relate to the competitive nature of the two main characters whose desires to "beat" the other draw them inextricably together. The verbal repartee is wonderful, the skating is exciting, and the attraction depicted between Sweeney and Kelly is real and palpable from the first moments. Bottom line: this film combines the ever-popular against-all-odds love with underdog-wins archetypes quite successfully. Love it!

I'm goin' Wabbit Huntin'

Very few times while watching a movie I can sense that this movie is more than it appears to be. When this film first came out I predicted it would be a cult film, and lord and behold it is. The movie is moody, weird, funny, scary, touching--sometimes at the same time. The plot is complex, yet simple. The acting is top notch, yet effortless. The direction is slick, fast and fresh, yet subtle. A lot is left to the imagination, yet a lot is spelled out clear. There are a lot of twists along the way, and the rollercoaster ride is fun indeed.
Its artsy fartsy meets David Lynch. One hellova film.
