An Emotional, Adrenaline Ride that will leave you Breathless

I saw this film because I'm a fan of stylish shooter movies and this looked like it would be a good movie. I was wrong, it's an OUTSTANDING movie. The acting is excellent to go along with the elogant dialogue. The shootouts and stylish and amazing, there is no modern action movie that "The Killer" has not influenced. The story is well done with no dry spots in between all the action. The overall movie is so emotional and so actionpacked when you finish you'll have to breathe deep to catch your breath after the final gunfight, it's that exhilirating. A definite must see for any action film fan, easily one of the best if not the best action movie out there.

Not to be missed by sci-fi fans! The plot is intricate and unravels at an excellent pace til the explosive ending! The acting is strong. Filming is very well done with a great score.

Delicious!

This is one of the best films from Hollywood's heyday! Comedy and Drama perfectly blended together by a great director and a stellar cast. Knockout performances by Marie Dressler, Lee Tracy and Glinda herself, Billie Burke but its Jean Harlow who knocked me for a loop! As Kitty Packard, the wife of a tycoon she is sensational! She is all silver, platinum, satin, diamonds and deco with one hitch! When she opens her mouth no pearls roll out just razor blades! She steals the show. Which is no small feat considering she is up against some of Hollywood's all time greats!

Wow

I don't believe I've seen a better performance from anyone than by Ed Harris in Pollock. Harris could retire tomorrow, and this one film would assure him a place as one of the great actors and directors of our time.
It's a movie about an artist, and it's a movie about a drunk. The drunk and the artist happen to be the same man, and the movie doesn't make the mistake of equating the one with the other. Many drunks (who also claim--sometime correctly, sometimes not--to be writers or artists) blame their "higher sensibility and/or sensitivity" to the rest of the world on their drunkenness, when in reality they're likely just plain ill. Stephen King talks about this misinterpretation of alcoholism in his book On Writing.
Much of the emotional impact of the movie stems directly from Pollock's struggle with his inner demons, and the struggle of his friends and family with those same demons. I didn't walk away from this movie with respect for Pollock as a man, although I'm sympathetic to his illness. I certainly left the movie with a respect for him as a man dedicated to his art, and an enormous amount of respect for his apparently long-suffering wife and her devotion to both the man and his art.
This is a movie worth owning, worth savoring with repeated viewings, and worth sharing with friends who might not have already seen it.

Call 911

Because you may laugh yourself to death! This is the best comedy that I've ever seen. Sad thing is, it's too un-PC to be made today, so be happy that it was done in a culturally freer time. The plot is simple: if a lousey Broadway play can almost make money by closing so quickly that expenses barely exceed initial investment, why not produce the worst play ever, with all the backing that schmooze can extract from gullibility, and hope for the worst (best)? The chosen play, "Springtime For Hitler," done as a musical, starring a hippie flower child, is an absolute scream. I won't give away more of the plot, but if you can see only one spoof about Nazi-inspired musicals acted and directed by by countercultural/alternate lifestyle types, for the benefit of failures-turned-conmen, this is the one.

Well worth 5 stars

I am not going to delve into great details as many reviewers have already done so, but I will agree with most that this movie was well done and definitely worth adding to your dvd collection, if not at least seeing. I am hard pressed to recall how I originally heard about it, newspaper review possibly, but based on that alone I knew I had to catch this limited release screening. I do recall when this movie initially released it seemed as if it was already relegated to "cult" status because it opened with very little fanfare, in very limited locations, and only for a short viewing period. My wife and I saw it before we were married at a lesser known theater in Hollywood, not on the strip, where it was only playing for the weekend. As we walked out when it was over we were so blasted by what we had just seen we carefully scanned the street for suspicious looking cars that might contain tommy-gun weilding hitmen and then ran to our car!All that said love this movie, get it, buy it, rent it, see it!

SICK SPINNERS BALLA!!!!!!!!!!!!

This movie was hilarious! Ice Cube was awesome! Here's a funny quote from the movie...
"You'r car costs more than my car" Then Ice Cube says "Dude, my shoes costs more than your car!"
WOW!!! It was hilarious! I suggest that you rent or buy it, because it's full of suprises, I have no complaints. IT'S FLIPPIN GREAT! The character who played Ice Cube was a baller with a sweet car(Lincoln Navigator) with sick spinners. My little bro found it "wicked". And it was. GO WATCH ARE WE THERE YET!!! Total 'must see movie'. Thank you!

Great Fun, Great Comedy.

No matter what your gender, or where you live this is a great purchase. You do not have to be from a small town in America, or even the Southeastern United States to appreciate the comedy in this presentation. Everyone has people in their family, or friends that can be relative, (oops) that are like these characters they present.
These men present, "...not so politcally correct," humor in a non offensive family manner. It does have a PG13 rating afterall.
If your wanting to pop in a VHS, or CD on movie night but do not want a typical movie THIS IS IT!

Excellent

This movie was different from the first, in that the "need" to see it again wasn't instant like the first, it settles, like a great steak and fine wine, and you savor it, then you feel the need to have it again! I'm not a x-men comic reader, so the first movie caught me off guard and made me need more... X2 delivers!!! It shouldn't be compared to StarWars... It should be compared more to Star Trek because it has the staying power to last, the human (sorry) element, and the potential to have unlimited sequels! The movie gives you bigger and better in a whole different way than the first, you get the emotional drama of the characters, the power and driven action you crave, and more Wolverine! Snikt!!! This movie is like a rollarcoaster that keeps moving, twisting, and taking you to new heights.... and just like the ride, you are still absorbing events and digesting it long after you get home! My only question is... WHEN WILL IT BE OUT ON DVD???!!!?!? There are no second run theaters near me, and it's a four to six hour drive to see it in the first place..... so I'm dying here :) send the DVD so I can relish a fourth viewing! And please Sign the core cast up for X3! Add whomever you want but please lock the core group into at least three more contracts! ;) Hugh, James, Halle, Famke, Patrick, Anna, Shawn, Ian, Rebecca :) (Gambit would be a great addition ;) ) Just sign me up to get X3 DVD now as well :) I know I can't go wrong with a X movie by Singer!
BTW Mr. Singer! If you could do Marvel's Origin series as a movie :) that would be great.... I can't seem to get a break and read those, don't want to own them just read them... unfortunately I can't get comics out here in stores either :) Great job and Thank you!
