A Star is Born-THE Star Is Born

Although this film was a remake of the 1937 Janet Gaynor/Frederick March film, that version cannot touch the brilliance, luster, intensity and artistry of the 1954 film. Garland is at her peak, giving one of the finest acting performances in the history of films. Garland did not win the Oscar, which was, is, and always will be a travesty an inexcusable miscarriage of justice. For those unfamiliar with Garland who are interested in the story of "A Star Is Born," the Garland version stands head and shoulders above the other two films that bear this name. The third version, with Barbra Streisand, would best be re-titled "A Bore Is Starred."

MY SON LOVES BABY BACH !!! HE THINKS IT IS FAR FROM BORING!

My son received Baby Bach as a gift at about 14 months old. He loved it instantly and still does (he is now 16 months). He has been watching Sesame Street videos since he was 1 month and a half. He actually says "Bach Bach" when he wants his Baby Bach video. He watches it at least once a day, often many times in a row. Sometimes he watches every second laughing and talking at his favorite parts and other times he plays with his toys while watching and runs to the TV during his favorite parts (two of which are the chicken saying "bach bach" and the young girls in the video). I haven't seen Baby Mozart or Baby Einstein yet; however, I would NOT say that Baby Bach is a waste of time or money. It has been GREAT for us. Upon talking to other mothers regarding their children's personalities and skill levels, I have found that certain items stimulate some children when other children may not be ready for them yet!!!

BUY THIS NOW!

After viewing the Cartoon Network version, two things were obvious. The English dialogue stinks, but there is something compelling about it.
I went out and bought the DVD to be pleasantly surprised. When viewed in Japanese, the energy of a lot of the younger characters came bursting forth, as well as the grizzled veneer of the older players.
The series beckons quesitons about the origin of they characters' mysterious powers, and to the nature of the robots whey wish to master.
The first few reveiws have the words "Eva clone" in them. Eva becomes often bogged down in mythology and in the disturbed nature of the characters. Pilot Candidate, however, flows with a steady beat, and gets there revealing snipits about everyone involved.
This is a series for more than casual anime fans. Provocative and fun, this is a series to view with friends.

They don't make them like this anymore

And I disagree with JT Boyd's review, partly because it is inaccurate. Robert Mitchum's character had an affair with a tramp, producing illegitimate son, George Peppard, which caused his estrangement from his wife, Eleanor Parker, who was the mother of his legitimate son, George Hamilton. I do think that Hamilton's part was way overplayed, but liked the movie, regardless, and George Peppard surely got my attention.

Sing a song with Pooh Bear

I purchased this video for my 20 month old son. He is in love with it. He would like to spend his every waking hour watching "pooh". We have purchased some of the other Winnie the Pooh series videos, but he won't even sit through 3 minutes of them and cries until we put the Sing A Song with Pooh video in. I'v logged on here now to purchase a new copy, my sons love for the video has lasted longer than the tape could. Great Job Disney!

Doctor Who - The Dalek Invasion of Earth - movie DVD cover picture
THE DALEKS RETURN, AND THEY'RE NOT HAPPY!!!

The second story of the 1964 Season Two reunited the doctor with his old enemy the Daleks. Script Writer Terry Nation, never expecting his evil pepperpots to become a cult icon, had killed off his creations in his original story but was commissioned to bring them back for the next season. In this story, the TARDIS lands on the bank of the River Thames, London in the year 2164. The city is in ruins and the Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan are soon split up and discover to their horror that the Daleks have invaded the Earth, butchered most of the population and reduced the survivors to either slaves or "Robomen". As the Doctor teams up with members of the London Resistance Movement he uncovers a daring Dalek plan to mine out the Earth's core, replace it with a drive system and turn the Earth into a giant spacecraft which could be steered from planet to planet as the Daleks expand their empire! The only hope for the remaining human population depends on the Doctors plan to infiltrate the Dalek mining operations in Bedfordshire and prevent them launching a giant bomb into the Earth's core.
Unlike the previous story, the Daleks are no longer restricted to moving on metal surfaces, but are free to roam the streets of London (and the rivers!) with their robotized zombies, exterminating whoever dares to resist them. Even though the BBC made this show on a miniscule budget, the original effects are not too bad and the sets create an atmosphere that makes this TV show far more enjoyable than its big-budget movie remake "The Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150AD".
Technical notes: The Doctor Who Restoration Team performed a major cleanup and renovation job on the original BBC recording to produce a highly polished DVD release. Following the success of the new CGI shots inserted into The 4th Doctor story "The Ark in Space", new CGI shots were commissioned to replace the "plate on a string" Dalek saucer with a new state-of-the-art spacecraft and new matte paintings were made to show the ruined cityscape (the effects have to be manually switched on via the DVD menu or else the show will be played using the original shots). A commentary track was recorded by Carole Ann Ford (Susan), William Russell (Ian), Verity Lambert OBE (Producer) and Richard Martin (Director). Also included is a featurette on the new CGI effects, a look at how the Dalek voices were created with the actors who provided them, "Now and Then" featurette on the locations used for filming, "Future Memories" featurette with some of the actors from the show, studio floorplans, a "Blue Peter" (Children's TV show) special on making "Dalek Cakes", a rehersal film shot by Carol Ann Ford back in 1964, BBC trailers, pop-up production notes, photo gallery and more!!! Enjoy!!!
Note for Amazon.com: This show was transmitted in 1964 and NOT 1975 as stated in your title header.

STILL SCARES AFTER MORE THAN FORTY YEARS!!!

The Innocents, featuring an excellent performance by Deborah Kerr, is a perfect example of why less can be so much more when watching a psychological thriller. Even after forty years this masterpiece still delivers the thrills and scares. The Innocents not only makes the viewer think, but it provides many jolts which will keep any seasoned horror/suspense buff on his or her toes. This film is definitely worth seeking out, although, unfortunately, it has yet to appear on DVD.

This is one fun movie

With non-stop action and laughter throughout, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is one of the best movies for getting a laugh. Starting in the Desert above the cochella valley and ending in Santa Monica, you will be taken on the ride of your life with great actor/comedians.
These were the best of their day, like Rat Race, it featured the funniest people of the time. Even had great straight men in Spencer Tracy, to name the best. The scene's of the police office, the race to the Big dubya and all made this the funniest movie of the 60s. Clean language, great comedy for the whole family.
I prefer the VHS because of the full length. When the DVD goe full length, watch out...it will sell big.
This is a video to definately have in your library.....the treasure is under the W, the big W.....who will get there first?
