90210 Beverly Hills... Where are you? We need you. Now..

There are many great shows out today in TV.. But none compare to the best series-show of all time...Beverly Hills 90210..I grew with this show. It was 10 years a part of my life. As I am sure so many others. Why is not out on video-dvd-vhs..anything for that matter. I know you can get the pilot season on dvd, and that is great but that is not enough. We need all 10 seasons.. Like ASAP.. Why do we have to wait any longer? Why is it a series that ended last year, or even a series or tv show that is still on TV, example The OC. Which I love the show. But it is already out Season 1 box set. How fair is it to us 90210 fans ...Where are all the seasons of 90210.. It has been off the air since 2000. How long do we have to wait, and why??? What is the hold up. Are they fighting over the rights or what?? Please put it out soon Fox... We loved it for so many years and us fans still love it. Please get it out to us soon..Thanks so much.. I can bet so many others are wondering why, its not out yet , and where it is???

A classic in every sense!

Let me first start out by saying please disregard everything written by that reviewer before me. Obviously (s)he has no idea what a good movie, good acting or good directing is all about. Either that or they must've seen another movie.

John Carpenter is one of the best known directors in the annals of horror movie history and did a phenomenal job of making one of the most suspenseful and influential horror films in the genre's history. If there was a horror movie hall of fame. Carpenter would be inducted first ballot along with the character Michael Myers. Halloween is not just for horror fans, it's a well acted suspenseful roller coaster that is made even more effective by the incredible score (done by Carpenter himself)

If you haven't seen Halloween I'd definitely recommend this for anyone who loves a good, gripping suspenseful movie. One other thing to the reviwer before me (ever heard of Jamie Lee Curtis??)

The Beatles Anthology - movie DVD cover picture
Absolutely Fab! - The Beatles music in 5.1 surround sound!!

This is a must for every Beatles fan. The picture quality is great, but that's normal with DVD and the Beatles' story is quite unbelievable. But the best part of this DVD edition (and not surprisingly) is the sound! Even if one has a gripe with the documentary whatever it may be, one absolutely cannot turn your back on the amazing clarity and new life all the Beatles songs have in full 5.1 surround sound be it Dolby Digital or DTS. You hear all the instruments in a 3-dimensional soundstage!!. Some songs have a new majesty to them in 5.1 surround (especially "THE END"). It truly brings a new appreciation to the musical composition and techincal wizardry the Beatles music has. Simply breathtaking. On some rehearsal takes, you actually feel like your in the recording studio with them Beatle guys!!!
The sound on the VHS and LD versions pale in comparison. If after listening to the remastered Yellow Submarine DVD you were left craving for other Beatles music to be re-mixed in surround, this boxed set fills that need. Though it also leaves one wanting (DEMANDING) for the entire Beatles catalog to be both carefully restored to preserve the original mono and stereo mixes of each album but also have them re-mixed into full surround for either SACD or DVD-A formats.

Sakura and...Sakura?!

Another wonderful addition to the DVD lineup for this series! We get one episode the dub missed, and three it didn't with multiple scenes that were cut regardless.
First up, the capture of the Mirror Card, which turns itself into a replica of Sakura herself and badly hurts Toya! Though this ep. was in the dub, it's worth it for the scenes that got cut, such as Sakura getting a quick trim from Yukito!
Second, Miss Kaho Mitsuki(Ms. Mackenzie in the dub) arrives just in time to help the kids defeat the trap of the Maze Card. This ep. also made the dub.
Third, we have an ep that didn't make the dub! The capture of the Return Card on the shrine owned by Miss Mitsuki's family! But before they find it, Sakura is suddenly sent three to five years back in time, when Toya was still in Junior High! There she learns how he knew Miss Mitsuki. Also, we have an interesting conversation between Sakura and Li about their feelings toward Yukito.
Finally, we have the adventure of the Shot Card! Though this was in the dub, I recommend viewing it because there are bits the dub skipped. For instance, we get to see Meilin buy a "Love" card from amongst the "enchanted" cards at Twin Bells in the hopes of strengthening Li's affections for her, and the whole subplot of Sakura trying to learn to cook Croquets got cut as well!(Her problem was that she was afraid of being hit by the popping oil.) This episode also shows Meilin's first meeting with Yukito, and the reason for the Shot Card attacking Li makes far more sense!(In the Japanese the card was set to go off when it was told to shoot at something. Meilin's trues coment that tripped it was, "I'll use the magic of this enchanted card to make a shot directly at Shaoron's heart!" oops.)
Bring on the next disc!

Great DVD

This DVD is great! The bonus materials included on this DVD are well worth the extra cost. The two shorts (Victor and Frankenweenie) and the "Making of..." are all worth the time to watch.

Even funnier than season 1!

As hilarious and groundbreaking as season one of In Living Color was, I was blown away by the second season. Some of the highlights from this season included Kelly Coffield's hilarious "Velma Mulholland", "Magenta Thompson" and "Andrea Dice Clay" characters. Other standouts are the return of Homey the Clown, the return of Blaine & Antoine, Anton Jackson, the debut of Handi-Man and Wes and Les Rawls. One of my favorite sketches was the "Foundation of Golf Heritage" where a controversy erupts when the PGA refuses to host a golf tournament at an all-white country club. The image of Tommy Davidson and David Alan Grier arriving at the golf course playing loud rap music (and dressed like Run DMC) and playing golf like one would play pool or basketball- is enough to make you split your sides in laughter.

The only complaint I have about the box set is some sketches some to have been deleted. I can't find Jim Carrey's Vanilla Ice parody in there anywhere. And there is a noticeable part in the end credits where the names of the artists who were played is deleted. Also in the sketch where Anton goes to the recruiter he sings a song at the end that is deleted on the box-set. He basically sings, "Be all that you can be. Get an ugly wife and a messed up life in the army!"

Why it was deleted, I have no clue. Other than that, it's a killer DVD box set.

Gods and Generals

I am a student of the civil war and have read several volumes on the war between the states, therefore I am looking for an acurate account of history. Gods and Generals did a fine job with the battle scences giving a vivid and realistic portrait of both the intensity of the battles as well as revealing the true character of those leading generals of the south such as "Stonewall" Thomas J. Jackson and Robert E. Lee. These men without question depended on the providence of God in all their battle stratagies. They were men of who digested large portions of the Bible. They were men of constant prayer and knew that they were Christians. They were fearless in expressing their faith in Christ to their fellow soldiers. They believed if they were to die on the battle field they would be instantly eschorted into heaven because of what their Savior did for them by dying a vicarious death. To them Jesus was their Lord and He secured their salvation on the basis of faith alone. They were gracious men because they were recipiants to God's grace. We need more movies of this spiritual caliber. Please keep such movies coming our way.Sincerely,Nick
