Perfect Cast

Whoever was the casting director on this movie really deserves alot of credit. Each role here is played to perfection and I can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. Geena Davis is the perfect older sister to Lori Petty's insecure Kit and Madonna is a riot. It's interesting to me that Mr. Harvey is played by Gary Marshall, Penny Marsall's brother since she directed this fine film. Watch it tonight!

A Classic French Farce

"The Dinner Game" is quite possibly the most hilarious film I've seen all year. It is about a man who attends dinner parties where people compete and see who can bring the best idiot to dinner with him. The man ends up having to spend an evening with his idiot while he is injured. Hilarity, of course, ensues. This is the only movie that has literally left me "rolling in the aisles."

Great Season!!

Grant and Jason are great guys! My whole family loves the show! If you are at all into the paranormal, this is a great thing to invest in. Even if you are a skeptic, this season is an excellent representation of Ghost Hunting.

Tony Jaa is amazing

Well the plot sure isn't anything to write home about and the acting is not so hot either. However, Tony Jaa is amazing. Even it you don't like martial arts movies go and see it anyway. This guy is gonna be huge. There aren't very many people who can make up for such a weak story and there are even fewer that can physically do everything this man can do. Go see it just to witness Tony Jaa defy the laws of physics. Just amazing.

One of the best French movies made

When I first saw the movie I was hooked on the spot. The cast and the acting was good along with the sets and camerawork.Jeanne Moreau and Gerard Depardieu are a perfect match as mother and son in the film. But I wanted to see more of Jeanne Moreau in the film and want to see more highs and lows in the mother-son relationship. The scene which nearly made me cry was Moreau's character at the door asking for her son's forgiveness.Give Jeanne Moreau a good script and she will give you your money's work.

The Bond series is on the right track...

I've read all the reviews, and I am not surprised at the diversity of opinions from long-time Bond fans about this movie. The series has been around for so long, and James Bond has undergone so many incarnations, that no film will meet every fan's expectations. Some liked the slower plots of the 1960's films; some prefer the tongue-in-cheek slapstick of Roger Moore; others want non-stop action like "Tomorrow Never Dies".
TWINE combines elements of all past Bond films (fast action, easy girls, throwaway one-liners), as well as its own additions to the franchise (a darker and lonelier version of Bond). It also has the same kind of convoluted, intricate plotline that the early movies used. They were all utterly preposterous, of course, but this one makes viewers think hard to sort it all out.
For my money, this movie is the best since the early Connery days. Brosnan's Bond is tough, but more human and vulnerable than any of his predecessors. The villains, while not as outrageous as some would like, were more complex than usual. I thought Sophie Marceau was the best Bond girl actress in the history of the series, and her character possessed the same balance of brains and sex appeal that made Octopussy so popular. Even Denise Richards was superior to the Bond girls of such classics as "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Man With the Golden Gun".
I think, when Brosnan finally steps down, his movies will stand the test of time better than Roger Moore's or Timothy Dalton's. Fans will probably rank him second only to Sean Connery, who had the insurmountable advantage of having been the first.

Yes!

Ah, the Cold War. As we stare wistfully back at that half-century of empty threats and balks from the Soviet Union that let our nation prosper so, employing so many Americans, singlehandedly defeating the looming specter of poverty through the massive peacetime military buildup that was our citizens' collective meal ticket, we can't help but worry about how we'll fare economically now that we've been forced into autonomy from the federal government...And so begins "Canadian Bacon", Michael Moore's 1994 fictitous laff riot. It's an amazingly astute and hilarious look at how beneficial cold wars really are to a country; and Moore doesn't let up in his continuing crusade against the downsizing enigma, setting the movie in Niagra Falls, New York, a city ravaged by unemployment, suicides, and crime, due to the closing of (you guessed it) a cold war arms plant. The American characters, John Candy in paticuliar, are all perfect, and the Candian mounties had me rolling on the floor. Michael Moore's first foray into fiction is utterly flawless.

John Candy

Picnic Redux

A very stylish retelling of the Willaim Inge play.
Holden and Novak and a wonderful supporting cast made this film a big hit. Photographed by James Wong Howe and therefore must be seen on DVD!
Moonglow and Theme from "Picnic" freezes everything in time..and although certain aspects of this film are dated..the story and structure are truly eternal.
The final LONG SHOT of the train ..Holden and Novak ...melded together by Dunning and Stoloff.s music is quite stunning.
