The Best Romantic Comedy?

We'll start with the bad, for those who have seen dangerous liasons you've seen it all before and will expect similiar. Don't!This is vamped for the younger generation. The only other thing that may make you dislike this film is Philipe's "Sebastian" acting. His acting through parts of the film is seemably someone trying to act but his character is someone who is constantly lying and is pretending. Several parts of the film when his emotions come out his acting is bottled. It's probably how most guys would act in the real situation trying to keep a tap on their emotions and the only flaw in this is that it's too real and not more like what we usually see on screen. But despite that this is a brilliant film with twists and a great ending.
I'd like to mention the excellent job Edward Shearmur did for the soundtrack. Brilliant non intrusive to the movie and very suiting to the mood. Each and every track melds into a great viewable movie.
With only a thousand characters per comment I could go on all day about film but thought more suiting to mention the bad and let you enjoy the movie with these out of the way.One of my all time favourite's.

Tragic

Since when does a sitcom appeal equally (and enormously) to teens and adults (male and female), critics, sports junkies, comedy-lovers and sensitive souls? Sports Night should have been a ratings bonanza. What a shame ABC tossed it around the TV schedule like a rag doll- which everyone knows loses viewers.
There are few things about the show you should know before you decide to buy the boxed set:-You will laugh (and cry) hard-You will (and I mean this) care about the characters-You will go into withdrawal after you finish the 45th episode-You will agonize that it was cancelled-Your cry for help will be something along the lines of writing an Amazon review

A MUST see!

I was very pleased to see a documentary about the relationship between the Lincolns because there are so many stories and myths surrounding their relationship. I enjoyed the documentary, but because all the trials and tribulations are revealed, I found myself extremely depressed.

Excellent movie about the war in Iraq

This movie is an excellent analysis of the war in Iraq. After watching the Charlie Rose show in which he interviewed Jehane Noujaim I was very interested in watching this movie. This movie shows the war in Iraq from a different perspective, from the Arab perspective and the Al-Jazeera television perspective.

This movie is a documentary which tells you the truth about the war in Iraq. It challenges you to open up your mind to what is really going on and to ignore for a second all the propaganda you've been watching on American TV and from the administration. There are many interesting interviews in this movie.

Control Room shows how Al-Jazeera broadcasts the war in Iraq to over 40 million people in the Middle East. It's ironic that people like Rumsfeld say that Al-Jazeera spread lies because Rumsfeld and his gang are hypocrites who claim that they are bringing "freedom" to the Iraqis. There are many unique characters in this movie, my favorite being an African man who often has humorous yet true comments about the war. The Americans claim that the Arabs are showing the war in a negative light, when they are really just showing what is actually happening-civilians being slaughtered and violence being perpetrated.

The style of this movie is engaging and simple, and you should go see it on DVD now if you haven't seen it.

MUY BUENA, GOOD DRAMA FOR INTELLIGENT PEOPLE!

This is a movie about friendship, love, and what's politically correct(literally!) and what's not. A broken hearted culturally challenged, conservative heterosexual student is befriended by a well read, idealistic artist who wants to be as free as he feels. They start off in the wrong foot, but slowly a mutual respect and friendship develops between the two. This is a movie where the characters do evolve and grow by the end of the film. This is a film for broad minded people, who will watch it to the end before deciding if they like it or not. This is a study in human relations under social/political opression.

An Underground Classic!

This is a truly excellent movie. Everything is good - the script, the plot, the cinematography, but above all the acting. How Larry Fishburne did not get an Oscar for his performance is beyond me. He has a really powerful screen prescence, his narration is pitched perfectly, but most impressive is the way his character's personality changes and develops throughout the film, something that takes really good acting and control to achieve. All of the other actors do well also, but none of them are as good as Fishburne. The action is gripping but controlled but it is the powerful plot which holds the entire film together. The film starts as a fairly standard "cops movie" but you realise about half way through that it's nothing of the sort. Forget about "Traffic" this is one of the most powerful attacks on the (so-called) "War on Drugs" that you are ever likely to see. The movie also raises all sorts of deep questions, about loyalty, principles, and how to maintain your integrity in a deeply corrupt system. Go and see it now!

This is the version of Iron Monkey to get!

Yes, you heard right. This DVD, the 90-minute Iron Monkey version from Tai Seng Video, is the version for the hardcore and casual buyer (though its out of print, at the moment, in 2005). Why? Becuase its NOT the 85-minute version that Dimension Home Video created, for their theatrical release and DVD. What you hear is true, the fight scenes have been trimmed to get a PG-13 rating for the USA release, and the subtitles are severly lacking. Even the wonderful music has been changed, and the story dialog has been altered. Don't listen to any other review that talks about "missing footage" on this page -- they're really refering to the Dimension version, and thought that this page advertises that one.

Now, the Tai Seng Video version (90-minutes) has a good-quality subtitles, uncut footage, and even a Engligh 2.0 audio track for those that rather listen to a dubb track. This is the version that is considered a "must buy" but be sure that you order the original Tai Seng 90-minute version when you purchase from another amazon.com vendor, since the two versions have seperete entries on this website. You'll thank me if you bought the Dimension Home Video release by mistake. Trust me.
